Chalk Board Table ***** Guest Design Post**** For Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog

http://gloriadesignschallenge.blogspot.com/

I'm so excited to share this with you I have been asked a few months ago to be a Guest Designer for Craft Hoarders Anonymous and the challenge is to UPCYCLE something. I thought about this and thought about this and you know I love to Upcycle tons of different things. But then one day as I was driving home from work, I came across a table that was marked free on the side of the road. Now if you know me this is something very common that I have done, because just because someone else may be done with it, it doesn't mean that there is no more life in it. Plus if I can get it for free I don't feel so bad when I turn it into something different and take a risk on Painting it or making it my own. So I turned this awesome FREE Table into a Chalk Board Table for my kids. Knowing that I have two toddlers and lots of little kids at my house at any given time, I thought this would be a fun project. I have to give credit to my friend Candice for the inspiration because she painted her Fridge Chalk board and I thought that was so cool. So took out my stash of Chalk Board Paint, and the Free Table and got to work.

So enough of my babbling I want to show you the pictures of the table before and after.

This is what the table looked like when I first picked it up, excuse the scooter in the way because of the ModPodge top, I started the beginning outside to peel off the Magazine. Of Course I had a little helper My Daughter DeeDee.

She was really good at helping me make sure that we got a clean surface, she just kept peeling, which made my job easier. I think I might hire her for more DIY projects she is cheap labor and fun to be around.

This is what the Table top looked like after being peeled and Sanded.

And then the end result was this.........

My kids love it and well I had a blast making it. We have had many different drawings on it, but the best thing about using Chalk Board paint, it is easy to wipe off..... Take a rag, water and wipe, and its all new again!!!!!!

I think my next project for my kids is a Lego Table...... They will love it!
(By the way here is their first master piece!)
